The term Eza means 'a meeting in the Samgha'. Ezas at Shogyoji Temple mainly consist of three kinds of dharma-meeting: 1) daily meetings after morning service, 2) two kinds of monthly meeting [one to commemorate the date of Shinran Shonin's death and the other to commemorate in a similar way the death of Venerable Reion Takehara] and 3) Sunday meetings. An Eza is where people confirm the joy of faith through mutual interaction. The tradition of "gathering together" begun in the time of Rennyo Shonin still lives on at Shogyoji Temple today.
