The Head Priest said at a meeting for young ladies, gIn truth the reality of our existence includes suffering.h


3rd The Head Priest said at a meeting for young ladies, gIt is clear these days that people more and more tend to choose what is convenient and rely on the good will of others. If you continue to behave in this way, your children will respond to you unsympathetically in the future.h


4th The Head Priest said at a meeting for young ladies, gIf you want to enjoy a life-long relationship with your children, you should sympathize with and care for those around you also. If your only concern is with yourself and your children, you will experience nothing but temporal self-satisfaction.h


5th The Head Priest said at a meeting for young ladies, gThe thought that however insignificant it is at least I can do this little favor for others leads one to the world of mutual respect.h


6th The Head Priest said at a meeting for young ladies, gWhen you become aware of the voice of one who really thinks of you, it is the Buddha talking.h

The Head Priest said at a meeting for young ladies, gAlthough we talk about eOther Power of the Original Prayer,f this is not mere dependence on the Buddha. It means that at the one-thought moment when we entrust ourselves to the Buddha, we become aware of our whole existence as being the working of the Buddha. The opposite is emere dependencef and elack of responsibilityf.h


8th The Head Priest said at a meeting for young ladies, gMere dependence leads to a lack of responsibility, jealousy and an inferiority complex. If you have an inferiority complex, you will start calculating and plotting quite unnecessarily and cause harm to others. Without responsibility, there can never be true encounter.


9th The Head Priest said at a meeting for young ladies, gWhen we become serious about matters we had originally considered were the concern of others, we become aware that these maters are actually our responsibility. This is the closest evidence we have of the awakening of faith.h


10th The Head Priest said, gThe Buddha-dharma is eaction (or practice).f Learn it with your whole body, not just through memorizing it or through intellectual understanding.h


11st The Head Priest observed, gWhen we become aware of what has been done for us, we accept it with gratitude. It is awareness that leads us to respond with gratitude to the Buddha.h


12th Mrs Hisa Miyazaki said, gWhat I have learnt is the certainty that a respectful mind leads to true faith.h


13th The Head Priest said, gKnow your own limitations! That is the same as being awake of ethe here and nowf.h


14th At the Summer Training Assembly Reverend Keimei Takehara said, gThe existence of ea taya housef motivates me to work. How happy I am to be with a good teacher and Dharma friends who are so sincere in their desires!h


15th Mr Kenji Toda, a Dharma friend from the Kanto District, said, gI shall never forget my masterfs kind words, telling me I would be able to revere the lotus flower from its roots beneath the water.h


16th At the Summer Training Assembly Reverend Josen Matsunaga said, gStop doing whatever you feel obliged to do. Do instead whatever you are impelled to do.h


17th Reverend Kojun Shinohara said, gWhen you think about the origin [of your life], then a path will open up before you.h


18th At the Summer Training Assembly the Head Priest stated, gWhen people of different languages, customs and nationalities encounter one another with mutual respect, then we will find true courtesy.h


19th At the Summer Training Assembly the Head Priest declared, gThe essence of music lies in the harmony created through music between those who share one spirit and one language.h


20th At the Summer Training Assembly the Head Priest told us, gOnce we discover ethe significance of being in the here and nowf, we come to enjoy making an effort in the true sense and the effort we make will be long lasting. When this is so, our relationship with our friends will become more assured.h


21st At the Summer Training Assembly the Head Priest also said, gIt is elightf that penetrates everything whether of form or of no form. The deepest dimension of the Buddha-dharma is expressed by elightf.h


22nd The Head Priest said, gBreaking through all barriers of form and no form, elightf and enembutsuf reverberate.h


23rd The Head Priest said, gLight penetrates wherever we attain true encounter,. When we receive light, faith is born and through the joy of faith the Buddha Name (myogo) starts working.h


24th The Head Priest said, gLed by elightf, ordinary beings live their [karmic] lives that Amida Buddha vowed to save.h


25th The Head Priest said, gNembutsu is something that we cannot find by ourselves.h


26th The Head Priest said, gIt is when things of life become serious that the reality of our existence is made clear.h


27th Mr Yoichi Uchida, who lives in Seiwa Taya, said, gWhen I underwent an introspection session I felt that hitherto Ifd merely been attempting to patch up my life. Now, however, being in a taya house I feel I can live my life seamlessly.h


28th The Head Priest said, gIf even the deepest recesses of your mind become full of light, that is proof of your continuous listening to the Buddha-dharma.h

29th The Head Priest said, gIf there is no true encounter between parents and children, there will be no proper relationship or reciprocal education between them. To put it succinctly, not only parents but children too will be free to ego-as-they-pleasef.h


30th The Head Priest said, gThose who are not indolent come to know the elightf and accomplish many things. This eventually leads them eto help othersf.h


31st The Head Priest said, gIt is important to listen to the Buddha-dharma and to keep listening and immerse yourself in it as if you were a bamboo basket sunk in water. [What is important is] continuous repetition and diligent effort. This is the reality of faith that emerges from having a respectful mind.h
