Later that year, the Ven. Chimyo Takehara, Head Priest of Shogyoii, asked Professor Taira Sato and his wife Hiroko to go to London to develop increased Anglo-Japanese understanding and spiritual interchange, and to further his prayer for world peace. This then led to the founding of Three Wheels, and from the start, among the many activities of the Centre, there were meetings of the London Eza every two months, followed by monthly gatherings to study the Tannisho and weekly meditation classes. Each spring there was also a two week school for teenagers from Japan, organized with the help of British and Japanese friends living in the UK.
